We got our bugeye back in the spring - fresh out of a restoration. Which mostly consisted of a decent paint job, cleaning parts and repainting them, a rebuilt engine and a rib-caged tranny. As I got to know the car I realized that, with the exception of the paint, pretty much everything else needed to be worked on. So, here we are, January, and I am nearly there. Highlights – MiniMania 1380 engine build with 1.5 rockers, T9 5 speed, and lots and lots of fixes. Here are shots of current status – I get a shoulder replaced tomorrow so project will slow down for a couple of weeks – but getting close to starting the engine!

I’m pretty proud of the throttle linkage I put together for the weber side draft that came on the car. It looks like it will work really well!!!

We do our own powdercoating (Eastwood setup), which is so nice - able to coat pieces as I need to.

Very nice! (y) (y)

Thank you! Having been there, done that with "correct" restorations, I really love the freedom of the whole restomod approach. Doing everything the best way I can.

looks great! and sounds like it will be a quick little minx when it is done

Looks like a great choice for the Lewis & Clark Classic Rally! (Maybe doing the tour option.)

Very elegant, IMO. 👍

The "Rube Goldberg" arrangement we put together decades ago on a home-made manifold for an MGB is now officially embarrassing! May have to re-engineer it out of shame!

I'm just curious as to where you're going to mount this. :flush: :jester:

Thank every one of you for your kind words. Twill be interesting to see how she drives - as you say, perhaps a quick minx!

I was curious who would notice that... But hey, it works!
