Jack, back to basics. Seems you have covered all bases and still have a problem. I recall you have installed a electric fuel pump. What pressure do you have at the carbs? Could this be the problem? I've changed over to a Weber and in the instalation manual they stress to assure the pump pressure (3.5lb. as I recall) is correct. Just a thought.
 
It is a MG low pressure pump. Supose to be 2.5 to 4 lbs. But now you have me wondering.
 
I had a similar problem Jack and it was an intake manifold leak
 
2.5-4.5 psi, 30 gph free flow, Catalog listing at $49.98,
labeled "E8016S" and is good for use without a pressure regulator.
 
You are in the right range Jack. The SUs don't require high pressure at all!! In fact, 4.5 is on the high side!
 
What symptoms would one expect to see/hear/feel with fuel pressure too high?

Does not really leak when pump is on. It just seeps a bit. Joe said it needed running to seat all the gaskets in well. Should stop with a few miles.

I need a longer sheath for the throtle cable, it is 24 inchs and needs to be 26. Off to the bike shop well think I will try Kmart first.

Finalized brakes this morning, nice peddal, and is easly adjusted, had the linkage a bit long is all. When bleeding all I get is nice clean fluid at all wheels.

Damb carbs.
 
Got 27 inchs of cable cover with ends cut at the local bike shop for 2 bucks. It is a perfect length for the gas pedal.

Is Teflon lined for smooth operation. You can get it any length.
 
OK, so I don't have leaks on ncbugeye. How do I see/feel/hear richness?
