Progress on the midget

I finally got most of the electrics worked out the way I want them and washed the car thoroughly inside and out and vacuumed with a shopvac all the water and then started it up and ran it for a while and then a few trips up and down the drive. I discovered that my tach is not working so I now had to have a look at that and then start on the carpeting, but for now I think I will have to put the midget on the back burner. i go to the doc tomorrow and maybe back to work on Tuesday. I have the car all nice and clean inside and out and I think I might take a painters drop plastic sheet over the whole car. I have until next spring to get it all fixed up. I never figured that it would take this long to do a midget, whew.

By all means cover it up. Keeps things nice and clean.

Luckily -- with a little care -- these cars wait for us just fine. They're far more patient than we are!

Oh yea Kim, make sure there is a chair close buy so you can go have little talks from time to time just to keep his sperits up and let him know you have not forgotten him.

ha, don't worry jack, I got presents to deliver him come Wednesday(according to ups anyways). I just feel that I am so close now. The major things to do are getting fewer. I now have carpet install, panels install, winshield re-rubber and install, seats finish recovering and install, install top and adjsut and clean, install glass and window raise/lower workings, seals in doors. Then there are many little touch up and nicieties that I need to complete, like the stereo and exhaust cut out design and build and more electrical stuff. Still, I think by next spring it just might be drivable. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Very much fun Kim, I'm glad you got it going!
Just try to leave it alone until Wednesday... sure, we'll see /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Sounds like your getting on with it pretty quickly Kim, keep up the good work! Hope all goes well at the docs. In the mean time, make sure if you do put a cover on the car, that it breathes. The last thing you want is covering it up for a few weeks and getting condensation settling on the car!
Also, Rosie's tacho doesn't work either; if you find the problem with yours let us know, I may have the same thing wrong with mine.

well, I went to doc this am and got released for work and went to my work and gave them the paper and they gave me another form that the doc has to sign, so I took it to the doc and the place was real busy and they said they would fax it to my work and so far I guess they haven't done it. I will call them at 8am and see if they have it then. Then I have to go in and they have a review or something and see if they can let me come back or whatever. My nerves are shot. I decided to work on the midget;) I started on the carpeting and got it about half done and some of the panels as well. whew!

Ha, ain't it wonderful.

Spridgets are wonderful therapy!
