Well my brother came in to help me put the engine together (particularly set the cam timing).

So we start with new rod bearings, got ne nylocks at the local hardware store.

Then time to remove the crank pully. My 3/4" sokets are MIA. Off to the Home Depot, they don't have anything. So we swing by the body shop and borrow one.

Got back get the pully off, yahoo. Take the timing gears out, then the old cam, and tappets. Go back into the house and pull out the new cam, tappets and oil pump and ugggghhh!

Oil pump is slot drive and cam is pin drive. So we are stuck, since they were both bought from the same place I never checked them. Called and got Dave on the phone, and a new replacement cam will be sent express mail on Tuesday.

So we proceeded by putting new shocks in my brother's bimmer, cooked him a barbeque and he went back home.

So I have been spending the last two days on the beach working on my tan. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
