Hmmmm? Well as much as I kind of like the sound of that, perhaps I’m getting a little ahead of myself here. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif
But actually I'm going to be a “guest” (at my own insistence) instructor in my son’s auto shop this week when I’ll be turning my son & three of his fellow students loose on my Porsche 928 to swap out the old leaky radiator. (Gulp! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif )
Anyway this is all part of his auto shop grade and working with his teacher I've arranged for him and three of his fellow students from his class to exchange the new Aluminum Radiator. Now normally I wouldn’t be too concerned if I was doing this in my own garage, as I think I have enough resources (abilities, tools etc) to get myself out of trouble. But because they’re doing this in my son’s auto shop I’m planning ahead and bringing my own tools.
Like I said I'll be on hand (hands in my pockets) strictly to advise & help out should there be any unforeseen complications. I also have a loooong list of dos & don'ts (mostly don'ts /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif ) for the boys before work starts on my car.
So here is what I've got got on tap for the boys:
New C&R alloy Radiator.
New Upper & Lower Radiator Hoses.
New Crush Ring Blocks 2ea.
New Thermostat & O-Ring.
I’m also going to make print outs for the students from the cooling system section of the 928 shop manual (CD) dealing with R&Ring the radiator
Well wish me luck! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
