Hello Eveyone. I new to the forum so be kind....
I recently inherited a 74.5 Roadster from my cousin. Its in great condition expect it wasn't driven for 6 years. The problem I am havig is my carburator are leaking fuel. The mesh hose that runs to the emissions cannister was completly soaked and after running for around 10 minutes the fuel started flowing from the hose that exits the cannister that is open to atmosphere. The carbs were pretty gummed up and old so I decided to purchase a rebuilt set. Well I mounted those suckers up in Dec and everything was lookin smooth. Until, this past weekend I though I would start her up since the weather was warm. She turned right over and after about 15 minutes the same problem happend to the rebuilt set that happened to the old ones. The mesh hose exiting the carbs started to saturate and there was fuel flowing, rather heavily, from the cover on the underside of the front carb. I'm not sure what the idle rpm is for the car but I can tell you that the engine did sound a little fast. But the tach is busted so I couldn't get a true number. Anyway completely fed up I turned her off and covered her up. So before I try to tackle this again this weekend, does anyone have any ideas. I keep reading that the carbs need to be tuned expect im not to sure what I should do. Anyhow, any responses would be greatly appreciated.....sorry for the speeling. Its been a long day.
