AT least one person reported that when they go to the "Vendors" page (Under "Site Links") they can not see the banners for the vendors there. I would appreciate it is some of you could visit that page and tell me if you can see the banners or that page or not?

Thanks

Basil

Populated the banners in an eyeblink here. Sounds like a browser issue to me.

You know my setup.

Tony reports he does not see the banners - with neither IE or FF.

Standard stuff here.

No problems, and:

By now everyone knows i`m running the oldest, slowest computer and OP. sys on the net, My version of F.F. is 1.0 {Don`t tell me I need to upgrade it, i`m perfectly happy with it!}

And No I don`t have Viri problems, there are a bunch of progies I refuse to use because I know what germs they carry and how contagious they are!

Basil, the vendors page opens and runs perfecly even on this antique!

Vendor banners all look fine here.

Safari 3.1.1 on OSX. No filtering.

Tom

20 banners here, lightning load times, all look fine. P'raps his IP has some sort of aversion to passing banner image files? ---silly, I know.

I've reloaded the page a dozen times, trashed the cache files in between. Very consistently comes up clean. Mebbe his settings for pop-up blocking are regarding the banners as such?

It sounds like there's something on his machine looking at the banners askance and not allowing them to load. He's got that Kaspersky stuff loaded on there, y'know.

The Vendors page has always opened for me.

However, I was having the "forum list" page lock up. The forums page seemed to be locking up when "btn_donate_LG.gif" tried to load.

It still locked up after the server change.

I have XP Pro and was running IE7 with all upgrades. I also am running Norton Internet Security 2008. I tried several different settings in both Norton and Microsoft to see if the problem could be resolved to no avail.

I changed to Firefox a few days ago and there is no more problem. Still using Norton so it must have been a problem with the combination of Norton and IE7.

I get 14 banners and one missing is for The Tire Rack..Running FireFox 2.0.0.12 with ABP. 19 with IE 6.

No problem here...IE7

Just out of curiosity ... remember a few weeks back when we were talking about ISP's "taking charge" of ads displayed on webpages?

Phorm and NebuAd-type "snooping" were being implemented by Charter.net, replacing a website's ads with ads chosen based on user's browsing habits as reported to the ISP.

Phorm and NebuAd info

Could BCF's vendor ads be subject to this if certain ISP's are involved?

T.
