Problem: Bugeye and 175/70 tyres on SuperLite rims

I have the Superlite (Minilite lookalike) alloy wheels from Hap Waldrop, and 175/70 Michelin tyres fitted. When I turn the wheel almost to full lock, the shoulder of the tyre rubs on the lowest part of the front of the bonnet. Does anyone else have this experience? Is there anything that can be done?

Lowering the car may help a bit.
If it just barely rubs, then have a tire shop shave and rebalance the tires.
