The biggest change in the new forum version is in the Profile Page. Note a couple of new things - you can see who has added a member to their PM "Buddy List" and also, registered members can leave comments in a member's profile page.

Hi Basil,
What is "Group Images to Display" mean in the edit profile page? I also noticed a little blue star on top of the profile page. ???

Thanks.

Blue star = Silver Member

And to answer the other question - this new version of software has a "feature" that allows members to pick which "Group Images" to display next to their names. So, if a user belonged to more that one "group" (e.g. Moderator has a symbol and Silver member has another (star) symbol), that user could check which, if any, of the images they wanted to display. However, I have disabled that "feature" so now if you belong to a particular group, it will display the symbol for that group and members can't turn it off.

I just noticed there doesn't seem to be a gold star.

I take that back, some people have a gold star. Other gold members don't.

All Gold members should, but if you know of someone who doesn't, let me know (If their subscription has lapsed however, the star will go away but the text title stays until I manually remove it. That could be what's going on)

What exactly is a UBB buddy? What does it do?

Sorry, I have my "drawing a blank" hat on this morning.

Its nothing much really. Its just a way to more quickly add a recipient to a Private Message. If you go to Private Messages and start a new PM, you will see that you can manually add the recipient -or- you can pick a recipient from your buddy list. SO if there is someone you PM often, you can add them to your buddy list and save a little (very little) time when you PM them.

You add someone to your buddy list from their profile page (Its right next to the Ignore User link)
