BRUTALLY demoralizing, that. What was so wrong about the FREEZER!!
...'course, that's the first place any would-be thief would search so I guess the oven would be better than freezer or mattress. Still, why did wife NOT know? I can't wrap my mind around the idea of hiding money from 'smits. Especially if under financial duress like those folk.
