Am asking what a clean '59 Bugeye is worth in this economy. I see various prices listed on e-bay, and various sites. I understand that condition will be the basis for this. I am selling mine and wonder what fair market value is bringing? It was completely restored about 4 years ago. I understand pics are needed. What will the market allow?

Completely restored is a very relative term often abused. If it is as you have stated, should be near a 99 point car or in almost showroom condition top to bottom. Basically no coverups or repairs that can be found if someone digs deep enough. If the case you can hope for up to 20K. Anything less could be around 5K to how bad the buyer wants the car amd willing to part with the cash.

I recently sold My `59 Bugeye in Exc. Orig. "Un-Restored" Driver condition. I`m not going to list the selling price here cause of "Controversy". As mentioned; A "Full Ground Up / Nut & Bolt" Restoration could sell for as much as $20K+. They certainly are appreciating fast!
Its all in the "Eyes of the Beholder". I sold mine for what I thought was a "Fair Market" price. The buyer is happy, I`m happy & Thats all that counts.
Post some pics here & I`m sure you`ll get a "Multitude" of opinions.

I bought a very nicely restored bugeye last year for 7K, the price it is worth is what someone is willing to give you for it.
Even your location and the season can make a huge difference in what you can sell it for, you may have a buyer willing to pay more but if they have to $2K to have it shipped across the country they are likely to not bite at your car.
Don't feel bad if you didn't get as much as the next guy, they were at the right place at the right time. When I sell a car I set my reserve low and hope for the best, sometime you win but in every case you sold the car and can move on.

My benchmark number, like Spritenut's, is around 12K. That means a thoroughly nice, clean car with no real mechanical problems. Up or down from there depending on condition.
Of course, the economy now is the big variable. I see people still asking lunatic prices for nice cars, and others who clearly have cut the price severely because they absolutely need the cash. So, it's a real wild time, and all in all, a buyer's market.
Most important, I think, is to take a good, hard, realistic look at what you have and price it accordingly. Frankly, it might be necessary to price it on the low end of the scale; that's just the reality these days.
