Price of a restored 76 midget?

O.K. Is this guy really expecting this much or is he WAY off course? My midget has easily this much potential. My interior at least has original seats in beautiful condition(without seat covers) and my interior looks this good. I will soon have a fully rebuilt motor and almost every otehr part has been replaced. I was concerned because I have almost 2500 in it so far and I thought I was getting to top end of what I should spend. If I could get this much, I see a REAL nice paint job in my future.

I certainly hope his price is good because I have his car's twin in my garage!!

I got it in my watch. If the price goes, I plan to write a wish list for my husband. I figure I'm nowhere near my limit if this is what I could get for Jezebel.

A car like that, Tony, is at least worth 25% of what Team Sprite got at auction for the classic, '58 Sprite, given that there is an 18 year difference in cars (given the value of historic nostalgia). Why not, if you put your heart into it, "do" your car??? A nice car, done right, in todays market...IS A NICE CAR!!! I would love to see what you have going, and watch your progress. I think it is by no small coincidence that Team Sprite did as fabulously as they did, as unique, and special as that project is, given some of the otherwise unobtainable, practical, day-to-day, experience that was extended from, and is available in this forum (courtesy of Basils' good graces...praise be to the master!!), and the generosity given towards "maintaining the breed" extended to all who love LBCs by the members here. It follows that such a spectrum of practical experiences available can only be an invaluable asset that will help in bringing the dream of your LBC to where you you see it. each car "done right" enhances all our LCB experiences! I guess what I am trying to say, after a long evening of darts (flew good too!) and ale tonight, is don't value your LBC, treasure it!! It IS worth it!

Sorry for my little "rant"...I read a good rant here earlier about parenting (in the Pub I think!) and read this thread and ran on a bit myself!

has the always been a MG>midget catagory on ebay?
ive always searched for it...dont remember it having
a catagory...hmmmm............z

Not sure of the question about ebay, Mark? But, if you are looking for parts, do a search entering Austin Healey or MG in the "make" box and enter Sprite or Midget in the "model" box and they will list all available listings. The same is true if you are looking for a car! They even have a "parts cars" category!

Did anybody happen to notice the '69 Sprite Mk lll that sold at Barrett-Jackson last week for $17,600? It was a very nice restoration.
