You know, for all the effort that scammers go to to find pictures, write up an ad, post it on CL and respond to inquiries, do you think any of them ever make any money doing this?

You know, for all the effort that scammers go to to find pictures, write up an ad, post it on CL and respond to inquiries, do you think any of them ever make any money doing this?

Since you've asked for opinions, I'm happy to share mine 
. Sell it "as is" ... any decent paint will cost a lot and will most likely be in a color the buyer doesn't want, wasted money.... for me, the big deal would be the underside. I've seen cars that look like yours that have so much rust on the bottom, outriggers, inner fenders, etc. that I won't buy them... been there done that... with Healey's that spells big money and time. As has been stated, asking price isn't selling price. I agree with Dougie 15-20k... and take the first 15k offer you get... and be happy.
One last observation, with all the cars that I've sold over the years, the FIRST guy that shows up and seems serious is the guy to make the deal with. Really, it's amazing, but I think 90+% of the time I've sold to the first serious guy that shows up. The times I've waited for a better offer.... I waited and waited... finally accepting less than the first guy was willing to pay. Lesson learned (for me anyway)... first guy is the guy to sell to. I just proved this theory again last month with a Corvette. I think the key is that the description in the add accurately reflects the car so the guy that shows up is seeing what was described.... not something less than described... don't pump up the description to get some one out to look at it and then have them see something less than described.
