Price check on an original 1957 100-6 BN4?

I have a '57 BN4 about 500 serial numbers later than yours. A check of Hagerty's valuations gives:

#4 vehicles are daily drivers, with flaws visible to the naked eye. The chrome might have pitting or scratches, the windshield might be chipped. Paintwork is imperfect, and perhaps the body has a minor dent. Split seams or a cracked dash, where applicable, might be present. No major parts are missing, but the wheels could differ from the originals, or other non- stock additions might be present. A #4 vehicle can also be a deteriorated restoration. "Fair" is the one word that describes a #4 vehicle. With the hard top - $23,000.

#3 vehicles could possess some, but not all of the issues of a #4 vehicle, but they will be balanced by other factors such as a fresh paint job or a new, correct interior where applicable. #3 vehicles drive and run well, but might have some incorrect parts. These vehicles are not used for daily transportation but are ready for a long tour without excuses, and the casual passerby will not find any visual flaws. "Good" is the one word description of a #3 vehicle. With the hard top - $35,200.

Those should give you a range.

Thanks for the assessment, John, and number ranges are quite useful (and what I need most). I'll be cleaning the car up, polishing the brightwork, and taking a ton of photos. I'll try to assess its condition accurately before listing it. 2-3 now seems incorrect. This car is quite mechanically capable, is complete and matching, but has a number of aesthetic flaws more similar to what you listed in #4--most notably patina in the paint and that ugly spot where paint has chipped and previously been painted over. 3-4 might be more appropriate. A casual observer can notice aesthetic problems, but a Healey owner should recognize that everything is intact, correct, sound, and has some refurbished parts.

Once you start the clean up, be sure to look for the longbridge features. This will help determine if it truly is a survivor car or has been partially apart. Check out Derek's site for what to look for. I see your car still has the longbridge washer pump in the dash, that is a start.

I found Derek's site and checked the things that were easy to check for the Longbridge cars. It appears to have all of them that I've seen so far, with the exception of the window washer bottle, which is missing. Things like the furflex seals and the rounded car badge are all there. I'd have to do a complete rundown to see if anything's been changed. I forgot that I also have the tonneau cover and the side panel windows. I may have the original knockoff hammer too, or it may be from a later car. Not sure if I have the toolkit, but I have at least one component of it, the little grease gun.

Even the side curtains were different on the longbridge cars. What do yours look like. Ours was missing the water bottle too and we found one on the British ebay listed for a Rover. I made a run of the correct bottle bracket and have just one left if you need/want one. The only thing not correct on ours now is the drivers door handle is not the locking style like it should be. I have since found a replacement door and locking handle but can't seem to see the logic in changing the door just for that yet as the car is finished and painted now. The side curtain knobs also seem to go missing and get replaced with the more modern style. I have made reproduction knobs but need to have them chromed.

There sure were a lot of subtle differences! I have the locking driver's side door handle, and my side curtains look like this: https://i.imgur.com/bsxc4cQ.jpg

They both have the star-style nut, and they match what Derek's says are the Longbridge-style features.

I'm not sure if I can find a bottle but I suppose it's a good idea to look for one, to satisfy people looking for originality. People seem to get very into the minute differences, which is good for preserving their history. Would you like to sell me your extra washer bottle bracket?

Dash - just make your list of what you may need? washer bottle? bracket? muffler 2 in 1 out NOS? finished side curtain frames? brackets? radiator? we can make your car - Longbridge correct

Yes those are the correct side curtains. They look to be in great shape too! I sold all my other bottle brackets for 75.00. If you would like it that is still the price. You can click on my avatar and email through my profile if you would like it. Your car sounds mostly correct and complete. It is looking more and more like a true survivor car. Patina is all the rage lately, so if it is a driver, the condition actually could add some value as a patina'd original car.
