I am a senior technician for a jaguar main dealer and I have a customer who is complaining of poor performance, difficulty starting when cold and reduced fuel economy. This is a common problem with this car but I have heard of a modification to the fuel injection ECU which is relatively simple yet AJ6 engineering see fit to charge £700 for it. has anyone else heard of this if so does anyone know how to do it.

Hi Diggs, the best man to answer your question has to be Dave Marks. He is technical adviser to the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club on all matters concerning XJ saloons and XJS. I am a club member, so if you get no joy I can approach him on your behalf, but I'm sure he will help you out here. You can reach him at david@davidmarksgarages.co.uk he is very knowledgable and I'm sure that this is right up his street. Good luck, let me know how you get on.

Steve - why don't you "UBBFriend: Email This page to someone" and send it to Dave (look for the link at the top left portion of the page as you view a particular thread).

Bit too technical for me Bas. Sorry! I have sent it now, be great if he joins the forum.

Ok, but for future refernce, scroll up to the top of this thread you are reading right now. See the little envelope symbol just above Digg's name on his first post? Click the associated link. Then, just fill in the email address and send it. It will send the thread page (in this case this page), to the intended recipient. Then, they simply have to click the link in the email they receive and viola! they will be here reading this thread.

Cheers,
Basil
