My dear mother went to be with the Lord yesterday morning.

I have not always been a son that a mother would be proud of.
I know that I worried her a lot, especially when I got back from Vietnam. She told me once that she worried more for the first year after I got home than when I was over there.

No matter what I did, she always stuck by me. She will leave a hole in my heart but I know that she is in a better place and that makes things a lot easier.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss, Pete. I know first hand that loosing a parent is one of the most difficult things we face in life. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

A wise friend consoled me when my mother died: "No matter how old you get, you're never prepared to become an orphan." Remember the good times with her.
 
I have 1 parent left and i dread the day that it come to that.

I was 23 when my dad passed... be thankful for all the years you got to spend with your mom.

My condolences to you and you family. Both of my parents are now gone, but the hardest was losing my mother when I was 17. She was only 43 (cancer). Time always seems to select all the good times that you had with her. I still have good memories today...over 45 years later.

Sorry to hear than Don. One of the saddest things for me was that I received a handwritten letter from my dad a week after he passed away. He was on a business trip overseas and had mailed me a letter ending with "I'll see you soon". Life takes many turns. Next week my son is getting married and my dad will be missed.

Prayers your way from us in NJ. Lost my dear Mom earlier this year. There's no way to prepare for this type of loss: you just manage as best as you can.

As a mother, I can tell you, we ALWAYS love our boys! Sometimes they do things that we are not "happy" with...but unconditional love is just that! There is NOTHING you could do that would change her love for you and she always knows that you love her too!
I'm so sorry for your loss. Although everyone has to go through it, that fact doesn't make it hurt less. Godspeed in your recovery and good wishes.
