This is having a devastating effect on many businesses, especially the airlines! I heard the airline industry is loosing about $200M per day! Also, people who are stranded in Europe are essentially on their own. The airlines are not paying to put people up in hotels because this is a natural disaster over which the airlines have no control.

Yup. It's a big tourist season for the Brits here (Disney, Universal, Seaworld, etc). Families they've had on TV here are having a two week delay out.

FYI - the local news folks (covering the stranded-Brits) said that the laws there require the airlines to cover the extra costs to the customer from the delays. OUCH!
