Powder-Coating Wire Wheels

I have a slightly off-beat question... I wonder if it is reasonably possible to have wire wheels powder-coated.

The reason I ask is because I have an XJS with wire wheels and on two of them the chrome is peeling off, exposing bare metal and surface rust is forming. Actually on one of them the surface rust is maybe heavier than "surface" rust by now. However, instead of buying new wheels to replace them, I would be interested in the cost and feasibility of having them powder-coated glossy black. I suppose that the chrome would first have to be stripped off, possibly adding considerably to the cost of the whole idea.

If anyone has any knowledge and/or experience with powder-coating wire wheels, please let me know about it. Thank you.
