Besides getting his bell rung, he certainly was railroaded. Looks like he kept his plan on track...
 
Actually, it wasn't the engine that killed him but the car behind it which makes this a tender story.

My guess is that a pun that good requires training.
 
Before his suicide attempt he had other plans, but they were derailed!
