Artie, the dimwitted hitman, was hired to kill the husband's wife. Artie followed the wife all day, looking for his chance. He tailed her to the supermarket and made his move - he tried to stab her with a knife but missed. Then he tried to push a display on her but missed again. Finally in desperation he grabbed her neck and squeezed until she stopped breathing. A bag boy saw it happen so Artie did the same to him. Another customer witnessed that and met the same fate. Artie was caught just outside the grocery store. Police found a $1 bill in his pocket. Artie said that's what he was paid to kill the wife.
The lead story on the evening news was:
"Artie chokes three for a dollar today at supermarket"
(I've been waiting and waiting for chance to get that one in!! LOL
