Post surgery boredom

Cobbled all the "wrong things" together and went to the back yard for a chance at getting some cardinals in the neighbor's feeder. The D7200, the Vivitar 2x and 80~200mm. No birds... So with manual 'everything' ∱4.0 (∱2.8 on lens), 1/640 sec. ISO at 2500, Lucy was caught as an abstract of sorts.

Not according to the pros. All sorts of silly restrictions. But none of the cameras weigh ten pounds, so that's a plus. Just got tired of being an over-medicated couch potato. Mitsy should at least get a nomination for sainthood.

No "driving or operating machinery" (does the computer count?) for another week. The 'final inspection' x-ray and surgeon consult scheduled for the 31st.

Yep. "Only sixty-three cents a day!"

Another is a "pain level" scale. Zero to ten...
Compared to what? Broken ribs? It's zero. A hangnail? OMG!!! I'm at NINE!!

Taking it all with a grain of salt (and a couple aspirin). The time it's taking is what bothers me most.

Just looked closely at that B&W shot, saw a "white dot" on it and thought: "Oh, frell... finally got some kinda contamination on the sensor." On closer exam, insect or something suspended in a web just behind the point-of-focus. Original frame:

I grow it from time to time inside. Outside, it would be ravaged by white flies. A friend of mine bakes wonderful Austrian bread and I get a baguette sometimes. Which prompts me to make this.

Surprisingly haven't found "real" mozzarella around here. Have to bring it from Miami when there's a trip down there. Shipping is more than the product otherwise.

At my regular grocery store, the buffalo mozzarella is not in the cheese section. There is an end cap that has "fresh" pasta, different kinds of cheeses and pesto.

I suppose I can't fault 'em, but they've turned into a "boutique $hop" over the decades. When we first came to the area it was much like a "hometown" Italian market. As was Alessi. Those days are gone.

Got an ambition "bug" yesterday, made a couple "ham & cheese" quiche. About anything else I found in the fridge went in them too. Made for a good breakfast this AM!

We've a chain that started here in Tampa, now grown well beyond. "Publix". They seem to tailor what each store stocks according to some demographic/metric. Closest one has what I'd call plebeian fare, others in "upscale" neighborhoods stock some of the more "exotic" things. Wines are a dead giveaway as to what part of town you're shopping in.

May need to put on the human suit and check out one of the locations on the other side of th' tracks.
