Well, there are a bunch of us here who've been messing with these things for 40 years or better. I think you're in the right place!

Don't sweat it if you get into the car and find that it is too rusty to economically save. You can always find another that is more solid and rebuild. Most of us have dragged more than one parts car home.

Keep us posted, we all like to follow projects... even people like me whose project is stalled.

Trevor, you wouldn't believe some of the stuff I've seen brought back from the dead.
Now, economically is a different kettle of fish!
And, yes, I've been guilty of it myself. I just can't bear to see one go to the crusher.

So far as getting it home, never know, maybe there is a spridget owner near you that has a tow bar. I'm in Richmond, VA and have a universal one that clamps to the front valance(although those ground effects may make it difficult).

for the sake of a mile get a tow truck with a deck. It'll be home before you've even begun to think about organizing a tow bar or trailer etc.

Tow truck with a deck is the way to do it, Call and get a price you will be susprised.
 
That's what I'll most likely end up doing, tow truck. But it'll have to wait, going on holiday for 5 days.

Your journey has just begun, always remember. Seem like you have a keeper. Not a one of us have ever had any problems with the repair or restoration of our lbcs. You will be the first if you might have a problem. Keep this in mind, however my memory might be just a little faulty. Enjoy, its all about the trip. We all are here when that first problem comes up, and it will. And then the next one. That is why we all have so many posts.

I agree with KC, there will never be any more problems with that car, no additional monies will need to be spent, and you will never break anything while doing a repair

By the way I'm also 26 years old with a full head of hair.

Yep, that's a keeper - & a great deal!

Were it me, I'd drive her the rest of the season while I made a list of "to do's".
