OK, I found out that I will most likely spending some time (a year) in the DC/Arlington area. I will probably be living in highrise and with all the congestion will be taking my "8" to do my driving. I need to figure out a way to get some garage time to do the regular Triumph maintenance. Are there any suggestions? Any one know of any Triumph Clubs in the area? Thanks

Check "Capital Triumph Register" on the web. I just joined a month or so ago. I have not attended any events yet, but they do seem to have some things on the upcoming calendar.

It might make sense to get aligned with a local garage given the storage situation with high-rise Arlington living. London Auto in Falls Church is where I take my 6. Motorhead in Fairfax is another option.

I will definately look up Capital City Triumph, I am hoping that FT Myers/Belvoir has a garage where I can rent space. I do most of the work myself, I am more concern where to find some expert advice and an occasion second opinion.

OK, I can not find web page for Capital city Triumph..... a little help here? I did see a MG club but their web page no longer works

Back in the day there were hobby shops on base/post where you could work on your cars. They had most common tools, lifts etc. You might need to reserve a time.

Just a thought, Pete

They still have them. I use the one here at McGuire AFB quite regularly. They charge a couple of bucks per hour for a stall.

don't they have an auto hobby shop on base? most bases have one.

I am in the process of touring the local bases hoping they have something just like that. I woud like to be able to work on my car on a lift like they had at FT Benning in their stalls. Worst part is I have a TR7 shell I am preping to do a heart transplant on (drop my 8's engine in) working on getting the body ready for the paint but it looks like will have to wait until I get back home to complete that. I will definately have to address rust on my doors and a few spots here and there to keep my 8 presentable, and my window regulator on my driver's door that only sometime works.... and my kids are worried I will be bored but with this much work to do, i will be busy all week.
