Porsche 356

Had the GT out yesterday,& saw a 356 C go by,on a trailer.
I followed it,& it turned out to be a guy I know who does some really
interesting work on cars (fabricating,bodywork,etc.).
Turns out that he picked it up a few hours away,where it'd been
setting for 27 years.Minor rust,but very original.The owner's going to
have him get it running & driving,and clean it up,but not restore it.I was
glad to hear that it wasn't going to be restored.
I'll see if I can get pictures.

I had one of those in 1958-59. Blue Normal coupe. Paid $3195.00 for it as I recall. It got hit by a careless driver who pulled out without looking and caromed me across the street and into a steel fence. I was unhurt, but after repairing the car, I traded it on a Twin-Cam MG. (Twin-Cam now in Australia.) It was a beautifully made, squirrelly-handling car with terminal oversteer. Very tricky to drive and not for the average ham-fisted leadfoot driver. Another one I shoulda kept...

My Friend is just going to get it running & driving -
NO body work,etc.
The owner also has a second 356 coupe,that will go through
the same process.
