I'll keep my gated standard shifters, thankewverymuch. In a number of instances if I'd had an automagic tranny, I'd have been dead, over not positively being able to put the car into a cog appropriate to avoid collision.
I've driven a stick almost exclusively for the last 40 some years, I'm at the point were driving an auto just doesn't feel right, what to do with the other hand and foot....
Add the parking brake engagement device to the mix.
I have a F350 stick and trying to pull away on a boat ramp is not easy as you need 2 feet to operate the important peddles and an extra one to release the brake which is either on or off. No hold it on the parking brake/Hand brake and engage clutch.
Had never seen that arrangement till I came here.
