Poor ol' car

There is something not quite right about how those carbs are mounted. I can't quite put my finger on it.

Makes you wonder how they get in that shape.

That thing is in better shape than me /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif
Just kidding.
Somebody should save it!

It can be done! Is it worth it?

Basically you would be starting with pretty much nothing.

I would vote not worth it. You can get better bodies for a decent price. It would have to take a complete act of unconditional love to give this guy new life!

Or insanity.

That one's pretty much a goner. I think even Frank (spritenut) would pass on that one, and he's tackled some pretty rusty Sprites.

Good for a few parts $50 is about it.

Ok - even I will admit that a Spit engine in a BE is an abomination - mind you looking at that car it's only kicking her while she's down

That is a restoration candidate, for sure, if you have all the equipment, and a ton of spare parts lying around. I've certainly seen worse resurrected. I wouldn't give $400 for it, but face it, they quit building these 46 years ago, and very few of the ones left deserve to be cut up or crushed.
But, I have the delusion that I'm destined to save them all, so what do I know!

Now there is that love thing I was talking about. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I think that their are many of us on here that would like to see that one resurrected, but......

It is depresseing but I think a new shell would be the best option.

My point. Use the old vin plate and what ever, all new sheet metal.

Shipping would certainly be a lot less for just the vin plate & whatever else was really wanted off it.

Would you mind just cutting a few pieces off & mailing them to me?
You can have whatever the crusher gives you for the rest...[/QUOTE]
