Poor Mans Rotisserie

I wanted to make this post on hopes that it might help someone planning a restoration of their spridget. I had been researching plans to build a body otisserie so that I could strip and repaint the bottom of my BE. I found links to plans using two engine stands, one with 4x4 posts secured to rafters and one using a simple frame.

I decided to try the simple frame made of a 48"x48" piece of 3/4" plywood and 5 2x4s. Total cost was roughly $50. I spent around 2 hours today building the frame and mounting my stripped shell into it. I was able to flip the car on its side then onto its back by myselft with little effort.

I plan to post some pics for thos who havent seen one of these. Until then here's the link to the plans and original pictures.

Might even be nice to store the old bod on its side. Would surely save a lot of space for some of us.

Pretty neat idea! Last one I did I found an old twin matress. But It wasent fireproof, and it only allowed me to roll it up one way.
I like your design, I may build something similar for the TR2
