I'm sure this has been addressed before and I did a search, but I came up with way to many posts, so I going to ask directly. I purchased some 60 spoke chrome wire wheels for my TR3. I'm going to be taking it to the British car show in the Chicago area this weekend and need to know if there is a product or procedure that anyone uses to polish wire wheels without spending hours trying to get the polish out from between all the spokes/wires. I've cleaned them up and they look great, but I started to add a wax to one for protection and shine and it took me hours to get all the polish off from between the spokes/wires. I don't have hours to spend on each wheel. thanks
 
Time is def. a factor when properly cleaning wires

it took me 4 hours to clean an polish mine too, one spoke at a time X 72 thats less than one spoke per minute
 
A toothbrush will work at getting rid of dried wax. An infant toothbrush works well in very hard to reach areas.
The only time saving method I know is called Panasports.
But I will always keep wires on my 3.
I just do a thorough cleaning in the Spring; spray cleaner until seasons end; and silicone spray over the winter.
 
I just cleaned mine today with eagle one made for chrome, lots of acids in the product, I did spend 1 hour on each wheel in the beginning but the wire wheel cleaner worked like a charm, spray it on let is work for 30 seconds and blast it off, looks like I just spent hours on them again. I think the first majar cleaning helped and now its just spray and rinse, I also pulled the wheels and smeared silicone on the inside hub at the spokes so grease would not come from the inside to the outside down the spokes
 
I don't let mine get to the point that I have to spend the time polishing them. Eagle One or a similiar product, hose them off and use an air compressor or even a leaf blower to dry them off keeps them looking nice and bright.

About a month ago or so; There was a similar post placed here:

I had an E-Type and spent hrs cleaning the Wires: Brought the car into a local "Detail Shop" & the owner asked if I would like to have my wires cleaned! A little upset with his comment & I said; Sure why not!

He rinsed the wheels with water / Sprayed this "Purple" stuff on them & I watched all this Black Garbage come off the wheels! I was amazed!

He let the "Stuff" sit on the wheels for 1 min max & hosed them off to an Incredible Clean, Super Shiny, Brand new look! You don`t even have to wipe dry! When they dry; They dry without spots or anything! Simply look "Outstanding"!!

This "Stuff" is not what you buy in your local Auto Parts store: Its "Industrial Strength" only avail. to "Detailers": It costs approx. $35.00 gal: Expensive but works incredibly well & lasts approx. 2 seasons doing the wheels approx. every other wk: (Preventive Maintenance):

Don`t ask what the name is cause I don`t know? Just go to your local "Detail Shop" & I`m sure they can help:

Lately; I`ve been stopping by with an old (Clean) empty Windex bottle & he simply fills it up for me: I give him $5.00 and we`re all happy campers!
