Plugging the temperature sensor hole

Having the coil mounted on top of the generator is causing a spatial conflict. Looks like I won't be able to use the hole in the 1275cc engine block for the temperature sensor. I'll need to use the hole in the radiator instead. What do I use to plug the hole in the engine block?

Thanks. I'm going to my local Fastenal tomorrow and pick up a 5/8"-18 x 1".

1" may be too long due to the crud already there- I would try for about 1/2" long or so.

Edit- I got one from NAPA a year or so ago (before I realized that the intake manifold plug worked too). Tell them that it is to plug a common temp gauge port and they will go from there.
