I've been out in the shop the last few nights workin on the "2"
Last night I pounded out the inner fender on the left side to a reasonable shape (it was all crumpled in) and fitted the fender. I still have some more shaping, and the other side to do, but it all has to be done before I pull the body off the chassis.
Tonight I removed a few more bits, Wiper motor and transmission, heater, heater bulkheads in the firewall, and the pedal assembly.
Then I started to bead blast and paint some of the bits.
One question I have for you other hard core TR2-3 guys, What color was Geranium? Moss just says "awful" for a description.
I'm asking because this car seems to have originally been a nasty light red. I first thought it was just signal red, faded out, but it's the same color underneath the bits I'm taking off. It reminds me of a zinc oxide primer.
For some reason I thought Geranium was a nasty green. Am I wrong.
Even the frame on this car was painted the same color. and I know this is factory.

That settles it! My car was Geranium. And from the paint chips I see, Yes it is that bad.(think "tomato soup, made with milk") Sorry, I'm not that much of a purest. It ain't goin back that color.
I'm probably going to paint it Jaybirds favorite.... BRG
Thanks Alan, That little model is the exact color scheme of what my car was new. Too bad it cost so much.

I just finished a TR3A with Dupont Triumph Racing Green listed as a 1964 colour, See atachment. Let me know if you want me to forward the Dupont formulation mix.

"Triumph Racing Green" is also known as Conifer and as Triumph's paint code #25.

Sorry to lose another potential Geranium TR2, but then most of the earliest TR2 colours were an...ahem...acquired taste.

(This from a big fan of Triumph's early 1960s Herald colors such as Coffee and Targo Purple!)
