General TR Plenty thread left on my old OEM 185 Redlines

Couple months ago new 1st time owner of TR6 said new tires on his parts list for his '72 passenger side rear had blow out on fwy TR6 did 360 ended facing the opposite way, lucky not much traffic on fwy, right rear panel/broke drum off trailing arm assy said knew he needed tires but he was trying to get one more day out of old OEM 185 redlines

I had a tire blowout on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in the late 90's. I was doing about 60mph and ~wham~.... my left rear blew out. The rear of my Ford Explorer was fishtailing all over the place. I was lucky to get it under control. Very soon after that the news was reporting a rash of Firestone blowouts on SUV's. Firestone did replace ALL of my tires in a massive recall. Initially they only wanted to replace four but I was emphatic that they replace the full size spare as well. The Firestone dealer did give me some pushback but in the end, they did replace all of them.
Blowouts are scary

Cant make it up ! Had an old Michelin explode in the shop spontaneously. 67 MGB in for a resto, walked away and BLAM, like a 12 gage,
laid the belts out all over the floor. This was after it was aired up to 22 psi to roll inside. I tell everyone steel radials are not trustworthy
after 10 years regardless of miles. Not worth your life!!

Loved them new for the OEM look, hated the ride/handling/lack of grip/performance, any time I see TR on them in person or pic inform the owner of the dangers, look good, last forever, no visual tread wear but hard as a rock, dangerous to ride on you're taking a very high risk with anytime you drive & my good conditioned couple yrs old 185 redlines TR6 was like on skates during panic stop. Still sport Redlines but on modern day tire

Once they start to get old and hard and cracked they also get slippery,which will increase stopping distance,which is my biggest concern on a vintage motorcycle.
I hate changing tires that look like new tread wise but display compound deterioration with cracking,but whats your safety worth?
Ever have a flat on a motorcycle?Just one will change your outlook about running old tires.
I was happy to replace the last set on the tr3 because I wore them out.
