Please talk me out of this

Dude you have got to buy that.

[Shaggy] Like, Wow Scoob! I sure dig the beaded curtain! Maybe we can get Fred to drop us off at the pizza place. [/Shaggy]

Buuuuuy it! buuuuuuuuuuuuuuy it! you know you wanna...
AmI helping at all:devilgrin:

I told Kelly what y'all said and she said, " OH NO!"

I told her if I bought it I could live in it...she said if I bought it I ~would~ live in it...

I do want it though and kinda bad too.

I mean, how often does something like that come up ?!?!?! That's about as pure as you can get!

Notice the van trophy?

I wonder if it will EVER be possible to get the smell of "patchouli" out of the interior??
I think that is pretty cool actually! And where else can you get such a unique vehicle that cheaply? Oh wait......you wanted us to talk you OUT of buying it, didn't you???! ;)

OK. The voice of reason.

1. Up till now people just think you are a d*mb *ss redneck. You don't want to remove the mystery by confirming it.
2. People will take one look at it - and you - and think you are serious (see #1 above)
3. You will have to gut the interior to move any amount of artwork anyway and

most importantly

4. Unless you are selling bongs and tie dye at folk festivals this will not send the message that you are trying to convey about your art and whether it should be taken seriously.

Besides don't you have enough POC vehicles? Don't make us come down for an intervention.

wet blanket........
Oh well. I guess there are a few sane people in every asylum. J.P. makes good points.
Of course, what's wrong with selling tie-dye shirts at folk festivals?

I was just going to say that's a TON of money for one of those.

A basic, used, running cargo van here in NJ would be around $1000 or less.

Wet bar? MG (octagonal) steering wheel?

What's not to love? :eagerness:

 That was funny. For what I need it for it could actually work as-is and better than if I gutted it. See, the thing is, as an artist and a car guy I'm probably the ~ONLY~ guy that could pull it off and make it look good.

Nial, NOTHING down here is $1000. It's top dollar but it needs to be. Only someone who can apreciate it for exactly what it is needs to own it, otherwise, it gets gutted and turned into a cargo van.

We really cant afford another vehicle. I need to drive the free Lincoln till it dies. I absolutley HATE the Licoln but oh well. After driving a friend's son's M Roadster two days ago I really want an E30 bad now, but it's just not practical....nothing is.

...and I didn;t even mention the '68 Ambassador wagon with nice patina and slot mags I was considering.

Uhhhh, JP, you do realize who you sound like, right?

The "Artist profile" piece on me just came out today. :eeek:

Dude....

That van is sweet. Your Creep-factor errr umm I mean Art-factor would be off the charts... I say buy it, then cruise by the local high school around 2:30pm and offer mobile "art lessons" to earn a little money to pay it off. What could possibly go wrong... :jester:

In all seriousness, look up John Bisbee: I think you will like and maybe even find some inspiration in what he makes (and drives).

You really could use that as a mobile studio/marketing tool/attention getter. You'd have to commit to it to make it work, but it could work.

Carp (sp). It's got an 8-track and triaxial speakers. You have to buy it just for that...oh, and the CalCustom murals.

Hmmm, that kinda sounds familar. https://www.nola.com/community/st-tammany/index.ssf/2013/06/billy_hammell_work_characteriz.html

Some of it got lost in translation. One of 'em should be "make the least on", not "of". Funny how one little letter can change the entire meaning of a sentence.

I only wish the Towncar was a Crown Vic. I absolutley HATE the Carson top that's on it.

Hehehe.. Everything has it's price. Not so much an offer, but a tease.
But I imagine if someone handed the right amount of federally printed green pieces of paper, I'd hand them the keys.
That was a fantastic write-up. And I gotta say the video about Bisbee was funny.
