Plastic cooling fan for BE - fit question

So i picked up a used but nice one of these;

But it doesn't have a pulley as shown on #16 below, and if I fit it over #16 it is going to be too long and hit the radiator.

I'm sure I'm missing something basic here, but...
 
You need a spacer for the plastic fan. Mini Mania sells them.
The later Spridgets with the cross flow radiator used a duel belt pulley and it was thicker to keep the fan away from the timing cover breather can.
If you are not running this timing cover, the plastic fan will work fine on the original single belt pulley.
It will not hit the radiator, it needs to be moved out from the engine by 1/4" if you have the timing cover breather and even then it will not hit the radiator assuming the car was never hit in the front.
 
Mine has three spacers, two thin, one a bit thicker. The probably total 1/4".
 
So this is the right stuff, I just need to run down a spacer then?

Spacer for me translates to stacks of washer's! Works fine but a little clumsy to fit.

I made my own spacers with a sheet of peg board. Just cut two strips the width and length of the radiator flange, mark the holes, and drill them out. The peg board is very dense and holds well.
