Placement of studs on 4.2 Jag engine

My brother removed the studs on the engine for replacement after removing the head. He did not mark them for so he would know where to put them back.

HELP!!!!

It'd be good insurance to replace the studs unless they're in REALLY good shape (NO pitting or corrosion at the bottoms). One stress riser on one stud and you'll be doing the whole job over again... with some added grief in-between. If one breaks down in the block there's no easy way to get the "stump" out. BTDT.

Just my 2¢ worth.

I have the head off of one of my 4.2s and could take some pictures if you think that it would help you. I will also replace the studs during the rebuild. I also have an extra 4.2 that is complete 2 carbs, starter, alternator etc. If you know anyone that needs one beachbumbarry@msn.com
