I just read that McB Autosports closed their doors...?

Anyone know if this is true?

They had worked on all my cars when I lived there. Always a wonderful place to visit - the shop was akin to a car museum. You could find anything from a vintage Jag, to a 1980's Wagoneer, to z-cars, to modern minis and bmw's. The owner and his son have been very active in supporting and running the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix; last I heard the son was organizing / running the modern car races in Wampum the week prior to the actual event in Pittsburgh. (Modern cars are too fast for the narrow circuit through the park, so a separate event was organized at a nearby racetrack.)

Would be sad. Very.

My mom died before the 'net was invented ... so I never got the warning!

McB's website is redirected, and calling them results in the rapid "unable to connect" beeping tone. Seems a good idea would be to contact a member of a car club in that area - and ask.
 
Thanks! I did reach out to the western PA group - hopefully one of them has some insight. McB was a triumph dealer back in the day.
 
My old 'stomping grounds' were mostly north of Pittsburgh, the pals in New Brighton were the local BMC dealership: Boffo Motors. Might try there for info as well. And the Sewickley Car Store used to be Sewickley Sales & Service, a number of the folks there were SCCA members of the Steel Cities Region, haven't had contact there for about a decade but there may still be someone with info there as well.

My youth was spent with a Wampum address. A few miles south from what is now the Pitt Race facility.
