pinging or knocking

i had a problem with many of my cars pinging. i was told this was fuel burning too fast. the solution was to use slower burning gas or propane. i ran ethyl, water injection, retarded the timing, it still pinged a little. then i tried a magnet on the the fuel line and it stopped i put a half a tank of 87 and it was still gone. i advanced the timing and ran all 87 this was 15 years ago. now i have the incoming air flowing over negative magnets and the fuel filter sandwiched between two positive magnets. I've been told fuel is naturally positive charged and air is negative charged but when the fuel lays around some of it switches to negative and it gets all balled up and a some point during combustion they separate, hook up with the O2 and burn a little too fast "ping" when i start after a day or two laid up the car pings while it uses the fuel in the carbs, then it smooth sailing. i have been thinking of epoxying a one on each float bowl. i buy them on ebay from china magnets there called neodymium magnets. i originally keep a big one around for smashed thumb nails. the negative side has saved many a nail. hang one on a string, negative is north seeking and positive is south seeking. science says bacteria doesn't replicate in a negative field. they come in very handy.

I have also found that keeping a soup spoon in by glove-box increases fuel mileage. That along with the braids of garlic and pencil leads near my brake shoes makes my touring much safer. :laugh:

I heard the Acetone is the hot set-up now.
That's right;
Just unscrew the cap, inhale deeply three times, then pour the contents into the gas tank. You won't be noticin no stinkin knockin noises anymore !
:crazy:
If that stops working, just substitute MEK for the acetone and repeat !

Magnets: I don't know if you will get better mileage but it let me run my hotrods on regular gas.and advance the timing .........Many things in nature hold a negative charge, we are accustomed to being surrounded by the negative charge in the air. . by passing air through a intense negative field it will become more negatively charged .............Molecules are “sticky”. They attract one another, "intermolecular attraction" if you pass hydrocarbons (gasoline) through a intense positive field they will tend to all switch positive charged for a while. the molecules get "unstuck" because there are all the same charge...............oxygen is negative and hydrocarbon is positive,,,, now they like each other........ when fuel burns it must first become a gas, oxygen combining with hydrocarbon molecule as it brakes down becoming H2O water and Co, Co2. carbon dioxide and release energy ........smoothly, pushing rather then exploding "PING" .......there is a low octane knock , that's different. that's when you use a garlic flavored MEK and make sure you put it in one spoon at a time.

I carry a silver bullet in all my Healeys "just in case".

The real solution is to wire a negative ion generator into the ignition system--in order to preserve original appearance I hid mine under the cover of a voltage regulator on the firewall which I no longer need with an alternator. Works like a charm. Note--if your car is still positive ground you will need to set it up reversed.

Does this work better than the "cow magnets"?
D

I have always wondered if these make cows more attracted to one another.

Dave--

How do you get the cow to swallow the magnet?

Pretty much the way you get a cow to swallow any large pill. Stick it in their mouth & smack them on the rear with a stick. Sort of the same as getting a male horse to drink water. Get his nose in the water & then smack his hind parts between two bricks. It only hurts if you get your thumbs between the bricks.

Seriously -- Use a "balling gun". A long tube with an ejector in the center. Stick the tube with pill attached to it's end down the cow's throat & push the ejector. The magnets are only about 1/2" diameter by 2" to 3" long.

? I didn't know that this was done with horses ? I heard about this technique being used on male camels before crossing large deserts.... Stick his face down in the water then smack two bricks together on his privates. .. It is known as " bricking your camel " among the desert tribesmen.
