My new Piloti Sebrings came in today. It was kind of
cramped using my old Keens when driving what with the
close nature of the BE's pedals. Heel and toe should be
a little easier.
Warm weekend ahead with time off. Mountains here I come! :driving:

First off Russ...if you plan on moving here the correct expression is "ya'll"...pronounced "yawl".

Tex hit on something. Native attire hereabouts is no shirt no shoes. My feet have gone soft over a winter of shoe wearing
and will require a month or so before they's tuff 'nuff
for driving native. My hide is so lily white 'n tender it'll
a similar break in period before it doesn't stick to the vinyl
seat. 'Bout May I'll be going native whenever/wherever I can. :cooler:
Ain't nuttin wrong with a good pair of tennie pumps. I love
dem old Converse high tops myself. :yesnod:
 
They say they are all D width - so be careful if you're a wide load...

Those look nice, but with 13ee (or occasionally 13 eeee) feet, they'll never fit me.
 
Sperry Docksiders fer "winter" and Sperry flip-flops for the rest... Heel-n-toe either way.

...'course I ~learn'd~ in penny loafers. :wink:
 
I have a tatty pair of suede mocs that I drive Nigel in. I finally learned to keep a pair of "drivin' shoes" in the car after getting one too many brake fluid stains on my Allen-Edmonds.

Turns out, Castrol LMA will strip leather dye right off. Who knew? :laugh:

O.K. I drive in Keens. Do Piloti's really make a difference? If you drive and then want to walk a bit, do Piloti's work?

I love my Keens(several pairs)but the wide toe ,which is supremely comfortable, is a bit clunky. It's mainly
difficult to get the shoes pass the clutch pedal when shifting is done and doing 4th gear touring.
Note I said a "little" easier. I don't see the Piloti as anything far superior to a nice tennis shoe. My Vasque Stealth
shoes are just about as slim. The cup on Piloti heel is a
nice feature. They are just a cool looking tennis shoe IMHO.
They are VERY comfortable just walking around.
I don't NEED them or Christian Dior driving gloves for that matter but I just like 'em. :cooler:
As Granny would say "That's why they make chocolate and vanilla.".
