TR2/3/3A Piggott Original Triumph TR2/3 ???

Randy - my sentiments exactly. The same thing happened to me with Amazon - delay after delay. I hate paying an inflated price for something (the used copies start at $250!), especially when my new TR3A needs the money more than I need the book!

Banjo - thanks for the headsup on the Moss vs Piggott question. I think I'll stick with my original Original idea.

Tom

I've got one of these on order from Amazon, partly as an experiment. Shipping has been delayed now for 2 months. If they delay again, I'll cancel. Sure wish they'd just reprint the thing.

I don't even have a TR3, just a fan. I really like the Original series -- I rely on the Sprite book for lots of the fussy little details that are just nice to know. Besides, all the pictures of those original cars are really pretty. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Tom,
Original Triumph TR was published first (in 1991) and when it came to the reprint it was re-written as three books (I think), one for the side-screen cars, one for TR4,5,6 and the other for TR7/8. They are very detailed and would tell you the exact clip and colour, etc.
I think what you need is Original Triuimph TR2/3/3A (if it were available). This was first printed in 1998. 128 pages of virtually every detail of the cars and plenty of colour pictures.
I can't comment on the In Detail book as it has not been printed yet.
The Super Profile book is very old now (1987) and I don't think it would be much use to you now. It is only 55 pages and it shows old ads, press reports, pictures of club meetings and some detail of the cars, but certainly not enough for concourse rebuilds.
If you were a bit nearer I would lend you my copies of the above books.

Nick - that is excellent information. Never knew those details. I too think Original from 1998 would be the target, but seems it's a bit pricey now. Probably will drop back down after the new book comes out.

I believe the In Detail publication date was 22 January 07. Unfortunately, no book store I've contacted has it yet.

I'm reluctant to buy/order it sight unseen, afraid it might be only a coffee table glossy.

Next time I'm on Skye (*very* wishful thinking) maybe we could meet at Kyle of LochAlsh. I hear there's a motorway bridge connecting the Isle to the mainland. To me anyway, that's sad. Back in the '80s I'd ferry over to Skye to escape the Thatcher materialism. Remember the great Poll Tax Revolt of 1990? Memories - memories.

Thanks.
Tom
