Well I should have kept track of how this is done but did'nt. The video does me no good since I have such a poor connection out here in the wilds of So Dak that I never bothered with speakers and seldom try to watch video's. Our state prides itself on no income tax but you don't get much else either! States around have high speed over the phone lines.

Anyway how do I post pictures to the forum???

Thanks
Kurt.

Hit reply (you need to be in the "full reply screen")

At the bottom of the screen is a link called file manager - click on it and you will open a new screen which asks you first to choose your file and then to add it.

Follow those two instructions, hit OK and you are good to go.

Other than that - for members who have not purchased a membership you are restricted to pictures under 100kb and only one per post.

good luck!

Thanks JP. I will play around with it later when I have some time and I see there are perks for being a supporting member. Guess I've been here long enough to contribute!

Kurt.

Kurt, with your connection speed you might want to keep pics under 100K anyhow.
Or your upload will take forever!

Rick, 100K is'nt hardly worth the trouble. The pics are tiny. Wanted to show my engine swap to the forum but can't figure out haw to be a paying member anyway!

Kurt.

Kurt-

Go to one of the sites that allow you to create a photo album, and then post a link to the album. I was using Image Hosting and liked them (less ads than photobucket) but they lost their service provider and I lost my album.

I use picasa, but I've been on the Google kool-aide for a while now.
I believe their deal is something like 2.5GB free and $5 / year for 30GB.
Then you just link to the picture in your message here.
Basil doesn't have to store the images, you can put as many as you want in each message.

Also - if you do it right 100K CAN be a nice big image.
Web browsers don't display the kind of resolution your camera produces, so it makes no sense to publish anything over 72dpi on a web page.
This means you can use 10% - 15% JPEG compression on an 800 x 600 size photo and come way under 100K file size.
