Yep. Those are the Longflo Ovals. I have them and like them. Convenient, too when adjusting the carb mixture. Just remove the clip that holds the screen and filter in place and there you are face to face with the air valve.
I'm not so sure about oiling them though. I haven't done that.
 
What did you do about the tires? Did you get the 205's?

Yeah Brosky I went with the 205/70/15s, they run so much better then the 185/15s (although they were dry rotted), good call. Did the Yokahoma AVID TRZs, ended up costing me only 316$ installed. They look [censored] good on the car too. Yeah I wonder if my car can make it to the event haha....
 
You'll make it, but get something to filter those carbs before you start. That's not a safe way to drive the car.
 
As far as oiling the elements, that is a good question, wish my memory was better, I know I have always done it that way when I had them on a couple of cars. The first set I got I had new, but don't remember if there were instructions to oil them I don't think I would have done it if something or somebody hadn't said that was the way to do it.

I know I have a foam air filter on my lawn mower as well and give it the same treatment--but again don't remember what started it.

Poolboy, do the replacement filters come with the a plastic "frame" built into the filter itself to keep it from being sucked into the carb or is that like seperate?

You have the frame right there in the picture. The filter fits between the metal frame and the wire mesh cover. It won't get sucked in.

yeah but that "frame" thing you see in my picture just flails around it doesnt attach to anything. I dont think thats how its supposed to be

Pharm., the foam will hold the plastic thing in place.
You have the chrome screen, then the foam, then the plastic. All that gets pressed against the mounting plate that is bolted to the intake flange of the carbs when you put that wire clip in place across the chrome screen.

Hey Pharmacist,
Nice looking ride...and I too love that color. Just relax while learning about your new toy. I panicked a bit when I first tried to do work on Fagin, but this group never made me feel dumb when I was, and helped me make some proper repairs. And when I am in over my head, I have found a local shop that does a great job for me.
