My questions is about the carb filters for the dual strombergs. It had no filters in place when i purchased it, just the screens and the holding bracket for the filters. The holding bracket that keeps it from being sucked into the carbs doesnt mount up to the carb so it was just dangeling inside the screened in outter cover. Dont know if this set up is even correct for the strombergs, as many things have been done somewhat incorrectly on this car by PO. If anyone can post pics of their carb filter set up and give me some advice on what to buy. Thanks so much

Also, the car came with a front spoiler but I cant see anywhere that it would attach too. Theres no mounting brackets anywhere, I have no idea how or if it was ever attached

Post photo of spoiler. It might not be the type that usually is fitted. The normal one just bolts on. Check the archives,I think there is a post on installing it.

deep breath.....ok, so angelfj I do have that original carb/filter assembly in a box included with the sale. Is that the only setup for the strombergs or can you do it a different way similar to what you see in my pictures. Much appreciated if anyone with strombergs post a pic or list of what they are using.

Those are the correct spoilers. They just screw or bolt to the lower valance.

Re: Pictures of the new ride and a c ouple questio

Just go get some really short 1/4" stainless steel bolts with stainless Nyloc nuts and bolt them on through the painted lower front body panel. Make sure they are stainless because they will rust very quickly down there. Any hardware store will do.

Those are Ramflo filters.

https://www.ramflo.5u.com/

LastDeadLast just put a set of them on his TR6. See this thread:
https://www.britishcarforum.com/bcforum/u...t_So#Post458458

Just clean them up and order some new filter elements and you are ready to roll.

Basil is very generous in keeping the site free. However because there are quite large expenses involved in running a site like this, there are now various levels of memberships available.

Beyond the most basic factor that contributing helps defray the cost of keeping a site like this running, a second benefit is that you can post more pictures per post and at a higher resolution.

Oh and welcome to party. Nice looking car.

Aloha,

You can also get replacement filter elements for you have at Victoria British.

Here is a link:

https://www.victoriabritish.com/ICATALOG/TC/t.aspx?Page=34

look on page 34 upper right hand corner, about $5 for a replacement element.

If you don't already have them, request a free catalog for your car from Moss Motors and Victoria British. In addition to being a source for replacement parts, they contain many explode views of the car. That I find is helpful in figuring out how things co together.

Nice looking car. I like the color.

Last time I checked you could get elements for air filters like that from Victoria British, they call it a Longflo filter, the filter element is foam that you are supposed to soak in oil to catch little bits of dust.

The plastic bit holds the foam in place between the plastic and the wire mesh outsides (so as you don't suck foam into your motor, which would probably end badly).

They are decent air filters and re-usable (clean element with gas, re-oil)

Oh yes, the car looks nice, congrats on the purchase.
