Nothing urgent, just brainstorming on eventual paint colors.

I'm not sure that I'm in love with the current color, and since the engine has to come out I'm thinking now is the time to start thinking about the engine bay color, which means that now is the time to start thinking about the exterior color...

I wish I could have shown you a finished car, but here is photo of my 3A taken in October. This is one of many gray's called "Silverstone Gray". The second photo is a color "test panel" above the driver-side wing painted the same color along with a swatch of the red leather being used. All different versions of the same color, but slightly different paint codes. We opted for the lightest version of SS Gray.
Finally, another beautiful paint color called "Salvador Blue", rather a kind of dark gray, at the other end of the spectrum. This one shot last summer at VTR, Valley Forge, PA.

Yep! I downloaded that picture.

Anyone know what color that is?

FJA - I can't wait to see how your Silverstone color car comes out. Very graceful.

Yeah, I tried that as well but got tired of looking for high quality pictures. Good idea though.

Does anyone remember a TR3 up on eBay that was a BMW grey?

I would have sent a link to my car earlier but I was on holidays and someone did it for me it seems.

I do know the colour and can look up the paint code if you want it. It is not a Triumph colour. Back in 1980 when I was resoring on my car I saw one in a parking lot in Kingston Canada. I had a camera with me and it has slide film in it but I took a picture and then took the developed slide in to the paint store and looked through (the automotive equivalent or ) chips until I found one like it. I think it was a French car maker maybe Reneult.
