Hey guys,

I got a digital camera the other day, so naturally I took some pictures of my spitfire (old ugly). They are now in the members ride gallery, I don't know how to put an image on the posts. Bet I'll win any ugliest LBC contests.

Cheers,

Hey, if it runs and is fun, then it's a beautiful car! It's British, therefore it looks great to my eyes!

My standard lines:
- "I'd rather drive my own piece of crud classic than only get to look at someone else displaying their beautiful show car."

and

-"I'd rather drive a cruddy real classic, than a real nice replica!"

Hey Walt,

I've seen worse... That's not too bad considering it's your year-round daily driver. And look on the bright side, you've got an LBC to drive

Give it a few years and you should be able to afford a handsome LBC...

Looks better than mine. Probably runs better as well. No matter what they look like they are a whole lot more fun that some of the newer stuff IMHO.

I've seen MUCH worse. And to a certain extent, who cares what it looks like...with LBCs "Beauty is on the inside."

Drive a rusty british sports car with parts falling off of it and people will still look and wave. they will come up to you in parking lots and ask you what kind of car it is, or maybe share a story about thier LBC they had back in the day.

Drive a rusty old Datsun, Ford, Honda, Chevy, anything not british, and they will yell at you to get that piece of junk off the road!

Mark, that is certainly the truth! I usually get the "Oh, I had one of these in college" comments. Depending on what I'm driving, my response is often "So did I. This one!"

Walt,

IMHO people can have an opinion that really matters when they start paying your bills. All that matters id the YOU are happy with the vehicle.

Hi Guys,

Wow you guys all really looked at it? As many of you said its not that bad, there is no rust, and it runs great the one thing I do pay alot of attention to is the drive train. It also looks alot better now that I spray painted the hood brown again. When I got it it had huge green splotchs of green primer from where someone had heated the hood up to remove dents and burned all the paint off. It was just aweful looking. Anyway this next week I am going to puul my dash pad off it is horribly cracked and I understand that the bare metal dash beneath it looks decent. Thanks everyone for your imput on old ugly.

Cheers,

P.S. James I don't actually plan on buying another LBC until I have this one completely fixed up, and on the track.

Nice car, I would rather be driving that spitfire then any of the other trucks in the picture. It's good see that there is another spitfire out and about.

Jeff:

I've been able to say the same thing at times...pretty funny.

WF: Your car is fine by me (but then again, I'm the guy who waxes my car with Pledge

)

Enjoy! That's what it's all about!

Walt - Relax. It's not a bad spit. It looks WAY better than my 7 does now. At least your car is one single colour... not black with orange patches here and there.

1. Go click on the picture you have uploaded. Click on the picture such that just the picture is displayed in your browser.
2. While viewing the picture, right click your mouse over the image and look at "properties".
3. Highlight the address of the picture (https:// rest of URL/yourpicture.jpg) then copy the address.
4. In a post, click the "IMAGE" button that appears below the post edit window.
5. When the image address box pops up, "paste" the URL (address) of the picture from the gallery.
6. Click OK on the image box.
7. Save your post as normal

(Note, you can also just past the URL in your post and surround it with the and tags) Like this:
https://britishcarforum/PhPPhoto/.../yourpicture.jpg

(I put extra spaces in the tags so they would show up, but the real tags don't have spaces).

Looks not too bad. I'll bet my Reliant looks worse. My Spitfire is far from perfect but that doesn't stop it being a barrel full of fun!
