Folks, I know a lot of you like to have pictures in your signatures, but please try to be reasonable about the size. Something about the size of the banner ads in the header here, or maybe a little smaller would be prefered. Remember, some folks still have dialup and every time your signature is displayed, if it ha s very large picture, it slows the page loading for those folks.

YOurs is fine. SOme folks however use full-sized pictures for their sigs.

For on-line posts...I go to my microsoft office picture manager. OPen the file and compress it for web pages. This will take a photo at 415kb down to 30-40 kb. or even smaller if you do it twice. THis does not seem to affect the way it looks on the page, but it does help keep the size down.

Don't forget, if anyone is having a problem with the sig-line graphics (speed, size, they don't like them, whatever), they can go to their preferences and set the Do you want to view other user's signatures with their posts to no.

Terriphill mentioned filesize: the problem isn't just dimensional size of the images (I try to keep mine simple), but the filesize has to be reasonable. I haven't had trouble here, but on other forums I've seen people with 400-500 pixel images that are needlessly 400-500k large.
 
IN addition to small file size, I'd prefer to keep the physical size reasonable too.
 
Hows mine Baz?? I've been meaning to get a proper sig made. Cuz this one probably is a little big.

I put my list of cars & banner togther to make my sig smaller...
 
Tony, there's only so much you can do with that list, unless you just offer it, by request,in catalog form . hehehehe.
