Picture of my BJ8

is it a white car in a snow storm? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This is very ambitious. You will be very pleased with the process and the car.

All the best.

I'm trying desperately to attach a picture of the BJ8 and when I enter "continue" the photo disappears. Can anyone offer suggestions so that I can post the picture. Thanks!

Hi SKH, I am new here too and had trouble earlier trying to post a photo. Look below the "emoticons" and there are a series of check boxes, mark the one that says 'I want to preview my post and/or attach a file. Then hit continue and you should get a place where you can browse to the spot the picture is on your HD.

Cheers
Dave G.

Hi Rob,
Posting a photo for the first time can be a little confusing. There is a limit to the size of the file, I believe it is 100K if you are uploading the picture from your computer to the BCF forum. As Dave said, at the bottom of the “make a post” page you will see a line that says “I want to preview my post and/or attach a file”. Make sure that is checked and click continue. On the next page, you’ll see a line that says “You may attach a file if you like (no bigger than 200000 bytes please).” Click the browse button and find the file on your computer. Once that is done click “OK, submit” What you will have now is a post that has the word attachment up by the time the post was submitted. To have the photo appear in the post automatically as James did above, click the attachment. When the photo appears, highlight and copy the address in the URL window. Go back one page, to your post and click edit. In the post box (where you entered text) I add a carriage return at the end of my text to separate the text from the picture. Choose “image” in the “Instant UBB Code” section and then copy the URL and hit OK. You can preview to see if it worked, or uncheck the preview box at the bottom and hit continue. Easy!

This is just not working. Back to the drawing board. [image]https://www.britishcarforum.com/ubbthreads/editpost.php?Cat=0&Board=UBB1&Number=223313&page=0&what=showflat&vc=1[/image]

Hi Rob,
You seem to be getting closer since there is an attachment in your posts. What format are you saving the photo in? If you want, you can email me the photo (click on my name at left to get to my profile) and I can try posting it. Maybe that way we can figure out what the problem is.

Greg W.,

I'm going to take the picture to a computer science professor friend of mine later this afternoon. If he can't get it to post, I'll take you up on your kind offer.

Rob

AH HA! change the .jpeg extension to .jpg and that will probably fix your problem.

Correct /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif The picture extensions allowed here appear to be .jpg, .png and .gif and since you are trying to upload a .jpeg extension I assume the system rejects it. Just to make sure you know how to proceed go to your picture file, right mouse click on the file name, look at the drop down menu that appears, select the one marked "rename" and change the end of your file from BJ8.jpeg to BJ8.jpg then upload it here, should work fine. I also would be glad to upload it for you if you are still having problems, good luck, I wanna see your BJ8 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif
