As some of you know I've gotten myself another 6(just couldn't keep away) Like the last brown one, it needs work, andl lots of it. This car is alot better mechanially(mostly all rebuilt) but a little worse off body wise. I am thinking about doing my first complete paint job, but my son went at one fender today with some compound and the shine actually came right up. But theres too many knicks and such to save the paint. It was restored by an british car dealer in 98, and sold to a female dancer(her 4th TR6) who drove it as her only car(and parked outside), she was very good about getting it any mechanical attention it needed, but not so great with cosmetical care /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif So I've spent the last 2 days just cleaning everything and still have alot more cleaning to do. I bought it as a non running car, dropped in a battery and was racing around the neighbourhood within 10 minutes of taking poession. I am sure I'll have alot of questions as I progress through my quicky cosemetic resto.

As you can see I removed the softop right away(frame needs welding in one spot) and put on the rather ugly snugtop...But it will keep the snow out for the winter. The interior shot are after my cleaning, the before shots would be too graphic for basil's forum /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Congrats on your purchase!!

Have a blast driving around all over the place.

Congrats. I bought one in the same color in LA years ago befoe we had kids. It was $1,000 trashed, but came with a factory hardtop. So I figured I'd paid $1k for a hard top with a car thrown in for good measure...your looks much better though. Good luck.

Lets say I got a pretty good deal on this /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif And for what it's worth, in the second pic the door is opened...They actually fit really nicely on this car, better than my last one at least.

Looks like a good find--pretty solid from the pictures. Enjoy the cleanup.

Thanks for the head up...But it's got good carpet, that was replaced in 98 with a MOSS kit. It was filthy with leaves and dog hair when I got it, but after getting the shop vac in there it cleaned up pretty nice(I removed that peice on the passenger floor because it was wet)

Looks real nice....don't woory about the paint...these cars are a lot of fun even when they aren't perfect...

Almost more fun. I used to drive mine year around. Now it needs to be nice. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thanks, that is so true...Of all the cars I own the white MGA with ratty paint is the most fun because I never have to worry about it getting scratched or dented.

BTW: I forgot to mention before...I HATE those tires!!! they are Michelin H4's(or something like that) 195/60's they don't fill the wheel well nicely(height wise) and make the car look worse than it already does. I am going to see if I can get some nicer ones in the spring, shame because these look expensive and are almost new.

Didn't you promise pictures of the previous owner as well ? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angel.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Yes, but I figured me an my 17 year old son asking her to pose would be weird.....and nope, no tears(while I was there at least) and after going through all the bills she had for it I wouldn't be surprised if she celebrated it's parting.
