Got some good news on the compression numbers as well - pretty much 160 across the board now. They were all over the map previously, and one of them was WAY low. Looks like some use and frequent oil changes (and MMO) have helped - and that is on the old heads.

Can't wait to drive her with the new/proper heads on her.

What ever figures you guys have keep crossed for me seems to be working - don't stop now!

Carbon is not bad at all on the pistons and the valley looks pretty clean. I can't really see the walls, but I'm sure that the rings and cross hatch are fine.

Keep going all ahead full. So far so good!!

I don't know what else to expect with that opening.
I mean ...
Is it hooked to a MSD or a Hyfire unit?

Also, Tom - the installation literature for the Unilite says to run the brown ground wire to the engine block. I ran mine initially to the body, but after finally reading the instructions (!), changed it.

Mine's hooked up with an MSD coil and the stock ballast resistor. Subject to change, though...

Let me double check the wiring - the shop I brought it two last (who know their stuff) changed. It is possible they got it wrong.

Thanks for the eagle eyes guys.
