Just a few pics from the Vintage festival today. I took many more, but I'm beat. I'll get them posted this weekend on flickr.
I've been out since 7 am riding around in a Cobra, (lower right in first pic) navigating on the rally, then walking around at the festival taking pics of all the rare goodies. It was a sunny,hazy, muggy mid 90 degree day, and I'm feeling it now.... Gotta go do more tomorrow... hehehehehe

Banjo, I'm soooo envious of you! Looks like a great time.

Look for my friend Steven Groh in a green/red Spitfire #3 and say "Hi". He's entered, but I'm not sure he made it as he had a family medical emergency. I think they made him change his number to #393 or something.

He wanted me to go up with him, but, even if I could afford to go, I'm feeling too poorly to have a good time.

Do you mind if I attend vicariously through you?
 
Great vid Banjo!!! Did they run the full old course? I would LOVE to see a video of them running outside the village, through the Glen, or bouncing over the RR crossing!! The hairpin up the hill would be great too!!!

Boy, I miss that area! Haven't been up there since the early 80's!!! Was the staging area on the old landing strip?

The bugatties did run the entire "old course". I'd love to find some video of them going over the stone bridge in the upper Glen. But I did not get out of town to video any of them. I'm sure they took it easy over the RR tracks.
I went up to the track today and watched them run right after a rainstorm. 10 foot roostertails and all. they were taking it really easy, but it was still really cool. I got 1 pic of them coming into the final turn, I'll have to post it later.
The staging area in the grassy pics was on the field of the Hidden Vally camp in the upper Glen park. It's kinda down in a gully so I don't think it was ever a landing strip.
I took 101 pics today at the track. even got one of me and B.S Levey while he was hawking his "Last Open ROad" books.
(heads up to Buddy Palumbo fans! new book due 1 year from this weekend titled "200 MPH Steamroller" I cant wait)
I think what I'll do is post a group of photos on Flickr, then supply a link to the forum. Just posting a few of the juicy ones here.
I'll try to get them up tonight.
 
Wonderful! I'm looking forward to our local club's big show here next weekend. I think about 250 cars ended up registering, all European, mostly sports cars.

That was an almost endless line of Bugattis! Almost as many as Ettore made! It's just great to see such historically significant iron running through the streets! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thirsty.gif

Thanks all. Yea. would have loved to do "Bridge shots" but the cars aonly run 2 laps during the re-enactment, and the bridge is over a mile up the hill, and the course is closed during the event. So If I want to be part of the downtown scene I can't be at the bridge. And before they run the cars, they're just lined up on the street, no barriers or anything. So it's a must-do thing to be there.
We did see Dennis Gauge ( the guy with the giant curled handlebar mustach, from the Classic car show) running around the crowd just before the re-enactment. man that guy's fast!
