Pics available of Parrish hardtop installation?

I am trying to figure out how to install a Parrish hardtop on a 1978 Midget. Not sure how the side attachments attach to the car. The car doesn't have the tonneau brackets

Pictures of the top and the mounting points would be helpful.
By "tonneau brackets" do you mean like the earlier cars have the brackets for the top bow inside the car behind the seats?

Hi Rick,

I don't have any pictures available at this time. I will try to get them and post.

The top (this was purchased in the early 1980's) has two turn buckles that have to attach to the car somewhere behind the side windows and seats.

I was told the tonneau brackets are used for a bar that supports the tonneau cover (behind the seats). When you remove the tonneau cover (I think) the bar is removed allowing a "hook" in the turn buckle to attach to the car

I could not find these brackets on this car.

I don't know if the brackets were removed or not used on the 1978 Midget.

I would like to see pictures and possilbly fabricate a bracket

Yes, those should do it for you.
If you are any good with metal they should be easy to make - or just order them, I'd suggest one of the Moss resellers who advertise here on BCF - usually you can get a bit of a discount that way.

Where do you install them? The bolt pattern looks different then the bracket for the top frame.

When they are installed do they interfere with the soft top operation (summer months)?

They bolt on just fine to the hinge area and don't affect the top operation at all.

I'll try and remember to take a picture with my phone and post it tonight.

Hope this helps:

Thank you Rick!!!

That really does help a lot. I was wondering what the large hole in the center was there for. Now I can see it is there to clear the center bolt for the top

That's why they say, 'worth a thousand words'.
