In view of the fact that the rear axle, brake lines and brake backing plates were all painted black in seems to make sense that the whole rear axle assembly was assembled off the car, painted black and then installed. If that's so, would the following parts have been painted black as well:
1. The brake line 3-way fitting
2. Visible portions of the wheel cylinders and adjusters
3. All emergency brake parts - transverse rod, bellcrank, cable housing?
What do you guys think? Is the fact that the brake drums were <span style="font-style: italic">[/i]not </span>painted black indicate that the brake parts were installed after the rear axle was painted and are properly left unpainted?
